Al Farkiah beach to have designated ‘women and children only’ days

Al Farkiah beach will have designated women and children only days, the Ministry of Municipality and Environment announced.

Starting September 20, Sundays and Wednesdays, the beach will be open for only women and children (under the age of 10) from 7am to 10pm, while families can visit the beach on other days from 7am to midnight.

Located in Qatar’s northern Al Khor city, just 44 kilometres away from the capital Doha,  the beach is close to mangroves and invites visitors to explore coral spots and fish.

Qatar hosts a number of women only beaches to cater to its more conservative society as well as those prohibited from donning swimsuits at public beaches, as per law.

Simaisma Beach has a dedicated women only coast that can be visited for a small fee.

In the south of the country, Sealine Beach receives families in one section though it has no separate area for women.
