“Earlier, there used to be a peak time of passenger arrival and departure and sometimes it dropped, but now the peak time is all the time.”


Col. Mohammed Rashid Al Mazroui, Director of Hamad International Airport’s Passports Department, about officials’ efforts to speed up immigration services for travelers. According to the Peninsula, he told Police magazine that a “smart” traveler program is in the works to help ease the strain. The over-capacity airport is also rolling out self-service technology.
