According to QNA, government offices will be closed from Sunday, Oct. 13 through Sunday, Oct. 20, with most resuming services on Monday, Oct. 21.
Banks will be closed Monday, Oct. 14 for three days, and re-open on Thursday, Oct. 17.
Those working in the private sector typically receive three days off for Eid. Eid Al Adha coincides with Hajj, an pilgrimage that millions of Muslims make to holy sites in Saudi Arabia.
That day, Muslims sacrifice an animal (sheep, goat, cow, or camel) as something of an offering to God as the Prophet Abraham once did. The meat is then distributed amongst themselves, family and friends.
