Expect traffic disruptions this week as military conducts training exercises around Doha

The Ministry of Interior appears to be tweeting where the exercises will place today. This morning, for example, officials practiced emergency preparedness at Qatar University:

Qatar’s Armed Forces will conduct training exercises in different areas and on different streets of Doha tomorrow, Wednesday and Thursday with “brotherly and friendly” countries, QNA reports.

Lekhwiya, Civil Defense and military police and vehicles will be involved in the exercises, and the public has been asked “not to panic” and cooperate to facilitate troops’ movement.

Residents have also been advised to “take precautions,” presumably due to the traffic delays such exercises will cause.
