Katara to offer host of cultural, educational activities in Ramadan

To meet the demand for social activities in Qatar but still hew close to the spirit of the month, Katara has launched a Ramadan program that includes exhibitions, classes and a book bazaar.

The offerings will run through Aug. 30 and include:

  • Four exhibitions: “The Beauty of Words”, an Islamic Arts Exhibition in collaboration with the Sheikh Faissal bin Qassim Al Thani museum; “The Garden of Contemplation,” a large light installation exhibition by artist Simon Heijdens; “A Matter of Time,” a clock sculpture by artist Daniel Weil; and a painting exhibition with recent works by Qatari artists that incorporate Arabic calligraphy.
  • Qur’an classes for children under the age of 17 years old.
  • Educational programs that focus on enhancing creative engagement at the Katara Art Studio. Includes bilingual reading material available at the weekend Book Bazaar.

Definitely a different set of activities from the usual shopping and eating activities that are usually on this month.
