PHOTOS: Super moon wows Qatar residents

-

The final super moon of the year made its debut this week, and was a stunning sight for the Qatar residents who looked to the sky last night, as shown by these photos submitted to the Doha News Flickr Pool.

Super moons are full moons that appear to be especially large and bright because they occur when the moon’s orbit brings it closest to Earth.

Last night’s moon wasn’t as large at the one that appeared in early August, but was unique because it fell so close to the autumn equinox – which also made it a Harvest Moon.

Did you catch a glimpse? Thoughts?

Not really that exciting. What about the 26 Karwa buses that burned down?

Obviously not interesting to you,but there are more people on this forum than you. You could post your comments about the buses on the burnt bus report. What did you hope to gain by making this statement on here—spark a debate on people are motivated by the more negative news issues? I think the article is interesting and appreciate news that is not all doom and gloom or moaning about Qatar.

No need to state that such articles not interesting irrespective of whether he saw the bus article or not–I certainly dont find the burning buses interesting but dont have the need to tell everyone that. People find different things interesting and those type of comments might discourage DN reporters from posting such articles in the future.

The moon post went up before the bus post because the latter took more time/reporting to put together. But we still thought the photos of the moon would be enjoyed – and that assumption has been proved correct 🙂

I don’t speak for everyone, just myself. I find this a bit boring, just my opinion. If the moon’s orbit brings it closer to the earth and makes it look ‘bigger’ than normal gets you off, then good for you.
