Qatar extends condolences after death of Muhammad Ali

Qatar’s Emir has extended his sympathies to the family of American boxer Muhammad Ali, who died last week and was buried yesterday in Kentucky, QNA reports.

Ali converted to Islam decades ago and visited Qatar in the early ‘70s. His funeral began with recitation from the Quran and became an interfaith event, with Muslim, Christian and Jewish leaders making speeches. Several world leaders including Jordan’s King Abdullah were in attendance.
