Qatar residents summarize 2015 in three words

With New Year’s approaching and 2015 coming to a close, many on Twitter have been evaluating their year in three words under a new hashtag that has drawn wide international response, especially in the Gulf.

Qatar doesn’t go big on end-of-the-year celebrations, but the approach of a new year is still a time of reflection for many people.

With responses ranging from serious to silly, here’s what people in Qatar and across the GCC had to say under the Arabic hashtag لخص_2015_بثلاث_كلمات # (“summarize 2015 in three words).”

Meanwhile, others commented on the deteriorating situation in the Middle East and around the world, including ISIL attacks and new measures to fight extremist groups, including the “Islamic and military” coalition against terrorism that Qatar joined this month.
