Report: Full foreign ownership to be allowed in Qatar’s new economic zones

Legislation is in the works to allow businesses that set up shop in Manateq’s new special economic zones to be 100 percent foreign owned, The Peninsula has reported.

Entrepreneurs and foreign firms looking to expand into the Gulf state typically require a Qatari partner to own at least 51 percent of their firm, although different rules apply for companies in the Qatar Science and Technology Park as well as businesses that fall under the Qatar Financial Center.
