Souq Al Medina opens at the Pearl-Qatar

Let’s Popcorn, Turkish restaurant Hasan Kolcuoglu and Al Jazeera Perfumes are among a half dozen retailers to open their doors at a new indoor shopping complex at the Pearl-Qatar.

Souq Al Medina, located in Medina Central, has been open to the public during special events this year, including Eid and Garangao.

But no businesses were operating there until recently.

In the coming months, the complex is expected to add coffee shops, restaurants, fashion and accessory stores and a Queens Medical Center in the coming months, island developer UDC said a statement.

The district of Medina Centrale is now home to more than 74 outlets.

Because it is often bustling with foot traffic, officials have begun closing the area off to cars on winter weekends.
