Despite Qatar's ongoing population boom, the total number of books checked out of the seven state-run libraries in the country dropped 30 percent between 2011 and 2013, according to government figures.
There is a record number of titles on offer this year, though the vast majority of the material on sale appears to be in Arabic. There are also new and used books, old manuscripts, maps, electronics, religious texts and children's toys and titles.
