Indian, Sri Lankan and Nepali embassy officials report that some 74 of their nationals in total were pardoned over Ramadan, for crimes that include drug possession, sexual abuse and fraud, among other things.
Several embassy representatives who spoke to Doha News said they are hopeful that some of their nationals have had their sentences commuted, but added that they haven't received official word yet about who would be released from jail.
